Jonathan Schachter, PhD, authored the first-ever textbook on Model Risk Management – Model Risk Management: A textbook for financial engineers, Academic Press, forthcoming January 2026 – and he’s coming to Brooklyn College to give us a talk on the new textbook and how to succeed in the field!

Textbook includes:
Everything needed either for an instructor/progressor or for self study
An exhaustive set of topics
Homework problems
Python code
And (of course) funny anecdotes to liven up the formal math and engineering concepts!

Math Club talk may include:
Information about financial engineering programs around the NYC area and top programs domestically
(Note: CUNY's financial engineering program at Baruch is one of the best in the world!)
What it's like to be a student in those financial engineering programs
The next step for undergraduate students, and the benefits of such programs

Honorable mention: Big thanks to Professor Diogo Pinheiro!
